What is Zero Conditional?

The Zero Conditional is used for general truths, facts, and daily habits. It talks about situations that are always true when the condition happens.

Structure:
If + Present Simple, Present Simple

Example:
If you heat ice, it melts.

Here, the result is always true, so it is called Zero Conditional.

When Do We Use Zero Conditional?

  • Scientific facts → If you heat water, it boils.
  • Daily routines → If I wake up late, I miss the bus.
  • General truths → If it rains, the ground gets wet.

Use of Condition if

Condition (If) Result (Always True)
If you heat water it boils.
If you eat too much you feel sick.
If you don’t water plants they die.
If students study hard they pass exams.
